Bounty Hunter
The
Synopsis

A tough, young man kicks the door in as he barges into a flat. The woman inside makes a run for it. He gives chase. She’s fast but not fast enough. He catches up with her, then escorts her to his car and drives her back to her home and family.
This is KAMAL. This is what he does. He is a bounty hunter who restores the honour
of traditional Asian families by hunting down and returning their run-
Our story takes place in Birmingham – this is Kamal’s town. A woman called SAMEERA hires him to find her sister, NAZIA, before her family returns from India. It’s routine stuff. Kamal finds Nazia holed up in a flat in Manchester. But she is not like the women he usually hunts. She has poise, beauty, dignity and a cool reserve. She challenges him and his values. Involuntarily he is intrigued by her.
Soon Kamal discovers that he’s been tricked. He’s returned Nazia not to her family but to her gangster owner, Amir. She is a star dancer in his exclusive club. Kamal realises he has put her life in danger when he discovers that she is linked to a disappearance and murder that threatens the whole clan. Her execution is imminent. Kamal feels responsible. He rescues her and together they go on the run. Amir and his men now come after them.
Whilst on the run Kamal and Nazia discover things about each other. Kamal’s own mother
had run away when he was a child, and he’s never forgiven her for that. It’s what
made him into what he is. As for Nazia -
But they can’t run for ever. The world they had escaped from soon catches up with them. In a dramatic climax Kamal has a final, violent showdown with Amir. He is able to forgive his mother and gives up hunting women, and Nazia is truly free for the first time in her life.
Set within the underworld of the Asian community in Britain, The Bounty Hunter is a tough, contemporary thriller with a gritty love story at its heart.
